We are pleased to be working with an ambitious MGA who have grown impressively over the last few years and as a result have created a number of brand-new roles to be based from their Leeds City Centre offices.
There a currently seeking a Senior Property Underwriter who will be responsible for the underwriting and selection of complex risks, in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with statutory and company requirements/guidelines to ensure profitability and business targets are met.
You would also be responsible for supporting the Real Estate trading team, cascading knowledge by way of training or coaching. Acting as a referral point where risks fall outside individuals underwriting authority level. Building new and maintaining existing relationships with our Brokers and partners to maximize conversion and retention whilst maintaining profitability.
The Senior Underwriter will also provide the conduit for information to flow between the underwriting operations team and the Technical Underwriting Department to ensure we continually adapt our underwriting footprint and stance in accordance with our brokers needs’ whilst protecting underwriting profitability.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Manage complex and large new business and renewal cases.
- Receive and respond to underwriting referrals from trading underwriting teams.
- Assist in the development of underwriting capability within trading underwriting teams.
- Provide market feedback, process improvement suggestions and other relevant information to Technical Underwriting team.
- Understand loss ratio targets and ensure underwriting respects these targets.
- Trade with Brokers to maximize conversion and retention.
- Provide training where required.
- Renewal/Existing and New Business Control
- Underwriting file reviews and feedback
- Understand/support and drive income, conversion, and retention objectives.
- Support the development of new products.
- Carry out macro underwriting tasks as required.
This role comes with and excellent basic salary ranging from £40K to £50K per annum + a comprehensive benefits package which includes a performance, pension, life insurance, PMI etc.
This role is Monday to Friday, no weekends, flexible working, part home / part office.
