Based in their Glasgow Branch which supports hybrid working, there are seeking a New Business (P&C – Mid-Corporate) Senior Underwriter which plays a critical role in managing the profitability and income of the branch, owning the financial results for designated accounts and brokers. The role demands a high level of influence on the Underwriting team, increasing the ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders and developing the technical and trading capability of the branch.
You will have a strong underwriting background and be used to dealing with complex cases (dealing with large premiums circa £50k to £200k GWP) and being the go-to person dealing with referrals, which also includes mentoring/coaching less experienced member of the team.
You would be responsible for looking after key broker accounts in and around Scotland and be able to trade and negotiate effectively.
The right candidate will be extremely approachable, confident, and capable of delivering outstanding levels of service both internally and externally, over the telephone and face to face, as the role will encompass a range of external customer meetings. You will need be visible in the market on a frequent basis and ideally have some existing broker relationships which can be utilised.

Competitive basic salary is being offered from £48K to £57K, bonus incentive and attractive pension plus other employee benefits would be provided as standard. ACII or a commitment to continuous professional development would be advantageous.
