This is a new and exciting opportunity to work for leading Global Insurance.

Our insurer client is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Lines Underwriter to work from one of their many regional offices located through the UK.

Are you someone with a strong underwriting background looking to provide technical leadership within the Chief Underwriting Office?

If you have experience in at least one of the Financial Lines classes of Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers/Management Liability, Financial Institutions, Pension Trustees, Commercial Crime, Cyber, Mergers & Acquisitions, Surety and Legal Indemnities, then this is a role for you!

A bit about the job:

You will provide leadership on technical underwriting issues including developing underwriting guidance and defining risk acceptance rules. The work includes supporting the dedicated wordings team to ensure our policy wordings are clear for our customers, operate as intended and are aligned with our risk appetite as well as working closely with the business and Group Reinsurance to negotiate Financial Lines treaty renewals. You will research new and emerging issues to identify potential future threats and/or opportunities and develop underwriting and risk management solutions to either mitigate the effects or grow our business. You will be expected to represent the company externally, engaging with a range of stakeholders potentially including regulators, reinsurers, and market bodies to inform and influence discussions on key matters. 

Skills and experience:

• Strong technical underwriting knowledge in one or more of the Financial Lines classes
• Ability to communicate complex subjects in a clear, concise, and simple way, while adapting your style for different internal and external stakeholders
• Experience of developing wordings
• Ability to think strategically
• Experience of Regional and London market portfolios is desirable

• Competitive Salary (depending on experience & area residing) up to £105K in the regions, and up to £150K Southeast/London.
