We are very pleased to be working with this very reputable insurance company who is seeking an experienced “Senior Commercial Claims Professional”. This would be reporting into their Manchester city centre operation with hybrid working option. Our client has maintained a reputation as one of the best property casualty insurers in the industry for over 160 years.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Under general supervision provides market leading expert claim handling in areas of investigation, evaluation, negotiation and resolution of assigned claims.
Acting in accordance with the Company's policies, procedures, best practices and controls at all times on claims arising from the Business Insurance lines. This job does not manage others.
THE ROLE

- As part of Claim the Senior Claims Professional will manage and handle a diverse portfolio of complex and often large claims arising from their assigned lines of business. Lines include, but not limited to, EL, PL/Products, Motor, Technology & Cyber. Typically these with be claims in excess of £100K upwards.
- Provides market leading claim service working closely with the Claim management team and the broader business to deliver and enhance the claim offering.
- Collaborates with Underwriting, Risk Management and Actuarial partners on portfolio, risk mitigation, policy language, and claim trends.
- Partners with Underwriting to sell and market business and strengthen external client relationships.
- To open new claims and to set reserves; to carry out early, appropriate investigations in respect of policy coverage, liability and quantum and to provide legal assistance as necessary.
- To fairly and promptly negotiate settlement of claims and to communicate promptly on cover.
- To ensure that vendors provide a market leading, cost effective service to both insured and the company by continually monitoring their performance, cost and quality.
- To promote the interests of the company by working with other business areas.
- Work closely with the Insureds and Brokers to promote the values of the department and the company and the services that it provides.
- To work as a team member providing such support as required by other members of the team and to fully participate in individual and shared project work.
ABOUT YOU

- Strong technical background and expertise with proven track record to manage complex claims, key client accounts, addressing trends and issues affecting their business and mitigating risks and exposures.
- Product expertise within the particular lines of business assigned preferred.
- Advanced communication skills. Advanced customer focus. Intermediate strategic planning. Intermediate business perspective.
- Intermediate ability to build collaborative relationships.
- Intermediate openness to influence, flexibility & Intermediate team work.
- Advanced credibility.
- Team player with positive attitude and effective engagement skills.
- ACII qualification preferred.
- Certificate in London Market Insurance preferred.
Dependent on experience, the basic salary is to £70K with excellent additional staff benefits in addition.
