A new opportunity has arisen working for a growing MGA based in West Yorkshire where they are currently looking for a Professional Indemnity Trading Underwriter. This organisation has the ability to move between or combine their business model enabling maximum flexibility in meeting intermediary requirements. They have a proven reputation as developers of bespoke commercial insurance products coupled with a unique combination of expertise, people, systems and access to underwriting capacity.
This role could be full time home based anywhere in the UK or a mixture of office/home if you reside locally to their office near Bradford/Leeds.
This particular opportunity is working within their P.I Underwriting division where you will be required to maintain and maximise intermediary relationships within the underwriting team, be a referral point on new business, and potentially look after the more complex cases if you are from a Senior Underwriter background. Basically, you will be responsible for - achieving Budget targets & ULR Ratio Targets, Customer Service and Underwriting standards. They would also like to develop the team going forward where you would be a key person to build a successful team around you, and therefore going forward this role could move into a more senior management position.
You will need to have previously worked in a commercial insurance underwriting environment and have good product knowledge on P.I. Key responsibilities will be to:-
- Strive for maximum efficiency, development and profitability
- Involved in new product development
- Renewal review and underwriting in accordance with the company’s underwriting strategy and Underwriting Guidelines
- Working with Business Development Managers to achieve business growth in accordance with new business targets
- Work in accordance with personal Underwriting Authority & in accordance with company’s service standards and understanding of Compliance rules
- To support and assist Commercial Underwriting Director/Operations Manager

Attractive remuneration/package provided, basic of £30k to £50k (possibly more DOE) plus benefits, including additional support with industry exams.
