Head of Exposure Management - Flexible Location

Job description
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join a leading global insurer working as their Head of Exposure Management where you will be responsible for managing UK exposures to ensure that all risks are understood and underwriting, and pricing strategies are aligned to ensure compliance with risk appetite.
Roles like this are exceedingly rare due to senior level of the position, and the opportunity has arisen as due to a big push within the company and within Exposure Management.
ROLE PROFILE
- Oversee natural catastrophe risk pricing and aggregation modelling
- Develop models to segment the account to understand exposure to: trade, premium segment, exposure to specific coverages etc
- Work closely with the reinsurance team to develop accurate risk profiles for reinsurance returns
- Identify gaps in risk profiles to ensure we maximise data quality and minimise loadings for missing data
- Working with the reinsurance team to improve /refine natural catastrophe treaty options
- Closely co-operate with Business Resilience to constantly improve risk data library
- Working closely with pricing teams to make sure our pricing is reflective of our natural catastrophe treaty reinsurance costs
- Working with the Property, Casualty & Motor teams to develop suitable accumulation/aggregation methodologies including for Cyber
- Presenting business cases/recommendations up to and including UK Board level
- Be the main point of contact for: Regulators, the ABI, and other trading divisions in respect of exposure management
- Be the main contact point for Risk Compliance in respect of exposure issues
KNOWLEDGE & KEY SKILLS
- Understanding of the underwriting process
- Basic understanding of commercial insurance products/proposition
- Understanding of basic reinsurance structures
- Knowledge of general insurance key performance indicators
- The ability to interpret complex data and formulate strategy
- Excellent interpersonal and presentational skills
- Self-motivated
- The ability to work effectively across a matrix structure
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in the use of natural catastrophe modelling tools
- Extensive experience of monitoring and controlling natural catastrophe aggregations
- A strong track record of presenting effectively at a senior level
- Working with actuaries on pricing development
- Experience in participating and leading projects, across a broad range of stakeholders
This opportunity comes with an extremely attractive package, which includes a basic salary of £80k to £100k, Car Allowance, Bonus 10%, 28 days annual leave, PMI, Pension, plus many other staff benefits.
