Job description
This is a fantastic opportunity with a very ambitious and highly regarded independent insurance brokerage with multiple office locations throughout Yorkshire, the North West and the North East. This particular role will be based from the Leeds / Bradford area although there will be an element of Covid related flexibility which will continue once the lockdown has ended.
The role has a primary focus on new business (not cold calling) and will involve broking new enquiries, which are mainly incoming leads from various sources including a very lucrative arrangement with a major insurer.
Although this role sits within the SME team, mainly focusing on lower premium business (up to £10k GWP), they are increasingly receiving leads for non-standard client with premium spends up to £60k.
Ideal applicants will have at least 2 years commercial insurance experience, gained in a broker or an underwriting environment and have a keenness to deal with new business enquiries, establishing relationships, marketing risks and closing deals.
A good level of communication skills is essential as you will be speaking to clients and insurers on a daily basis establishing and building relationships; the ability to “ask for the business” will definitely benefit you.
It is anticipated that the natural longer-term progression of this role will be towards client facing account executive status. Professional studies will be fully supported.
