Job description
This is a new and exciting Business Development Manager opportunity due to the company going through a significant growth and development programme where you’ll work the broker markets within the South of England.
You will be looking after an existing portfolio of insurance intermediaries focusing on retention and new business development. This is a home-based working role where you will report into their Regional office in the North of England.
This is a Business Development Manager opportunity which requires someone to be sales focused and ideally has existing broker relationships within the geographical area.
To be successful you need to be a results driven Business Development Manager with a proven track record in a similar role.
It is essential that you have previous commercial insurance experience from either a broking or insurer background, or both. You will be given flexibility and a lot of autonomy, and it would ideally suit someone who has a proactive approach and is comfortable being in a sales environment working to sales targets set by management. In return, you will be provided with additional support from senior management and a strong team of underwriters to ensure you can maximise every possible opportunity to being successful in performing this role to its full potential.
KEY DUTIES
- Generate New Business opportunities across all Group products
- Delivering growth and retention in line with strategic Targets
- Liaising with relevant internal departments to ensure that customer needs are met and that customer requirements are fully communicated throughout the business
- Collating and analysing business data to ensure a full understanding of each customer and overall panel
- Undertaking research and analysis and producing business plans/recommendations (including all associated costs and forecasted revenue for the business), to ensure that all business development opportunities (new products, services and markets) are optimised, assessing the risks to the business of any new opportunities.
- Responsible for the quality of visits, regularity, planning and reporting
- Build strong Internal & External relationships
- Adhere to compliance and regulation requirements
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
- Experience of General Insurance
- Knowledge of the Commercial or Schemes market would be an advantage
- Proven track record in a Broker Facing Development Role with the ability to build and maintain profitable relationships
- Highly energised, motivated and results driven
- Hands on approach with a “can do” attitude
- Strong communication & negotiation skills
- Self-Motivated with the ability to work proactively using own initiative
- Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve results
- Strong organisation and time management skills
