Business Development Manager - Scotland/North East

Job description
This a great new role as Business Development Manager working within our clients Risk Management division for one of the UK’s leading specialist MGA’s operating within the UK today. They offer a range of bespoke insurance products with a bias to dealing with high risk and non-standard business.
You would be based either working from home or you can plug into to their many offices in and around the country, where you will cover the North of England & Scotland where a good percentage of the working week would mean being out on the road.
This position requires key broker relationships to be managed and new business opportunities to be maximised, and therefore you will need to have be driven, passionate, and hungry to develop new income streams.
KEY AREAS OF THE ROLE ARE:
Business Development:
- Ensure the targets agreed with the Business Development Director are met
- Create and sustain a sales pipeline via lead generation and cold calling prospective customers
- Identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products / services etc
- Seek out the appropriate contact in an organisation (internal and external)
- Meet with prospect customers / clients either face-to-face or over the phone
- Understand the needs of customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these
- Work strategically – carrying out necessary planning to implement operational change and setting aims / objectives in order to develop and improve the business
- Negotiate pricing with prospect customers and suppliers where required
- Attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate
Marketing:
- Help to plan and implement sales and marketing campaigns (working with the Business Development Director etc)
- Conduct sales forecasts / analysis and present findings to the Senior Management Team (SMT)
- Discuss new business activities / strategies with the marketing department
Operational:
- Ensure staff throughout the business understand and appreciate the need for change and what is required of them
- Develop personal knowledge, understanding and expertise of how we interact with clients by accompanying staff on site visits
- Maintain a good understanding of the business’ products / services and be able to advise others about them
- Maintain regular communication with the Business Development Director
- Work closely with other members of the Business Development Team
- Maintain a positive attitude that inspires co-workers and clients to grow the business
- Seek new ways of improving the way the business operates
- Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs
- Ensure quality service to all clients in accordance with their needs and requirements

Excellent remuneration and basic salary £45k to £60k, car/car allowance plus other excellent staff benefits would be provided with this role.
