We are pleased to be working with one of the most progressive insurance networks operating in the UK today.
They have created a new role as a Broker Development Consultant where you can be based anywhere within England and home based. Or, if you reside in the Southeast then there would be the option to work from the company’s head office.
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
The Broker Development Consultant is an excellent opportunity for an individual from an insurance broking or underwriting environment who wants to step up to a Relationship role within the Network space.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will provide broker support & assistance through inbound & outbound calls & emails to both prospective brokers who are going through the onboarding process & to those brokers who are already an established member of the network, within their given territory area.
The Broker Consultant will be the first response unit for all new & existing businesses who require assistance with a varied range of requests from onboarding, training, & Insurer support.
Detailed duties & responsibilities include but ARE NOT RESTRICTED TO:
- Duties will include ensuring that the different broker businesses have their queries & requests for help answered quickly & professionally, with a full focus on customer service &satisfaction.
- Full ownership of brokers within territorial area with a “can do” approach to support day to day queries wherever these arise, by either resolving personally or escalating internally to the dedicated area.
- Responsibility for retaining a Panel of Brokers & ensuring any internal systems are updated accordingly with relevant activity.
- The arranging of regular meetings with your allocated brokers, whether virtually, telephone or face to face if travel warranted.
- Supporting the broker & being the ‘go-to’ for a whole host of queries with aim of being a
“critical friend” to the broker.
- Involvement in the onboarding process as directed by Broker Development Manager for new members within your given territory.
- Working closely with other teams within the business to build your relationships internally so you can deliver excellence to your brokers.
- Occasional insurer engagement to be able to promote insurers to your brokers & assist with placement needs or support for any bespoke scheme requirements.
- A proactive approach in understanding the needs of your brokers so that support, training /development, & the uncovering of opportunities whilst working with the BDM to provide suitable solutions.
- Actively being open to attracting potential new prospects & referring them internally.

This opportunity is a great way to get into a Broker relationship role and potentially lead to an external Business Development Manager position over time if desired.
Dependent on experience, the basic salary is from £25K to £30k (Possibly more) with excellent additional staff benefits.
