Business Analyst - Leeds - (Home Working)

Job description
We are currently working with a very reputable and professional insurance company where their head offices are based in Leeds West Yorkshire.
They are currently seeking a Business Analyst where home working would be supported with ad hoc visit to the office.
They are looking for someone with strong BA & testing skills and ideally from an insurance background.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To work across all business areas on business case development, requirements specification, data migration, testing (including test scripting, regression testing and UAT co-ordination/support) and business intelligence/reporting definition.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Requirements Specification – Uses formal methods to specify business and user requirements to aide applications development including but not limited to the design of transactional web sites, the design and specification of Insurance rating products together with associated risk capture requirements.
- Facilitation – Successfully facilitates business process and application requirements workshops driving through efficiency and business change for the benefit of the group.
- Testing – Defines together with relevant business stakeholders the test strategy and test approach for changes. Supports the business areas in test planning, scripting, and test execution.
- Data Migration - Manages the specification of data migration requirements, mapping specifications and supports the business in migration testing.
- Systems Analysis –Reviews current systems and their usage to identify deficiencies, inappropriate use and opportunities.
- IT Delivery – As a member of the IT Team works to ensure that system changes are developed in line with specifications, tested and delivered according to agreed procedures.
- Supplier Management – Working with partners of the company to deliver new applications and enhancements. Acts as an interface between business stakeholders and their requirements and third-party partner’s delivery of systems in order to meet those requirements.
- Project Management and Change Management – Working with the Project Manager to manage small projects to scope, time, budget and assist with the management of change including; understanding the impact, testing requirements through to live implementation and review.
- Business Case Development - To support the decision process for new changes including support for developing business cases, producing key decision papers and representing the project at senior stakeholder forums where appropriate.
- Data Protection and TCF – Ensures that the requirements of the groups Data Protection Policy, the principles of the data protection act and the requirements of Treating Customers Fairly are considered during systems and process specifications
EXPERIRNCE SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Mandatory:
- Strong experience in the General Insurance industry
- Knowledge of insurance trading applications and associated tools
- Demonstrable experience of working on projects
- Strong analysis and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to identify and resolve features and problems in data
- Analytical ability to break down complex problems with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to create functional and rating specifications
- Ability to design and run application test scripts
Desirable:
- Demonstrable Business Analysis experience across full project lifecycle
- Experience in documenting business processes, user stories and functional requirements
- Experience of working in a formal Project Management environment
- Ability to pull together strong business cases based on tangible payback

Basic salary dependant on experience is £30k to £42k, plus matched pension, 25 days holiday, bonus.
