Job description
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen with a very progressive and independent brokerage who are currently seeking an Assistant Compliance officer to work closely all of their regional offices throughout England.
An Assistant Compliance Officer role within a fast-growing insurance broking group which serves the needs of (mainly) commercial customers and consumers via a network of UK-based offices.
This new and varied role is Manchester-based, although some home working may be possible.
It will suit a candidate who has experience of the FCA’s regulation of insurance brokers and is now looking to take the next step in their career development.
In addition to this you would:-
- Support the development of the company in accordance with the group’s plans and objectives.
- Help develop the risk management and compliance framework in all areas of the group’s business.
- Help manage day to day regulatory compliance and governance for the group.
Key duties will include:-
- Assisting the Group Compliance Manager to deliver against the annual compliance monitoring plan.
- Assisting in the review of client files against the FCA’s ICOBS requirements and following- up missing information with the offices in line with group processes and procedures.
- Assisting in the provision of regular internal compliance reports.
- Dealing with day-to-day compliance queries raised by the group’s offices.
- Maintaining central records and registers to a high standard.
- Working on projects under the direction of the Group Compliance Manager.
Your required knowledge, skills and behaviours will include:-
- Good knowledge of UK regulatory requirements gained through experience in an insurance broking environment.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Ability to manage a varied workload and meet tight deadlines.
- Good IT skills on core Microsoft Office systems.
- Experience of Acturis.
- Desire to work in a dynamic, fast-growing company environment.
- Help build a positive culture and philosophy of trust, honesty and transparency throughout the group.

To be considered for the position you will have previous experience working in a Compliance function ideally within an insurance brokerage and be happy to travel when required.
