Job description
We are currently working with a reputable global insurance company who are seeking a Senior Reporting Analyst which is a 12 month fixed term contract covering maternity leave.
As Senior Reporting Analyst, you’ll prepare and analyse comprehensive financial reporting on behalf of the Chief Financial Officer, for the Management Committee and Group. This role will support current key activities to automate and streamline reporting processes, including supporting the population of a central data-lake with all reported data and automation of some existing reports using Power BI. You’ll need to ensure effective automated or manual controls and reconciliations are in place and work to improve the alignment of financial reporting between Finance and other functions. You’ll be empowered to challenge errors and look to improve quality and delivery time.
What you’ll be doing:
- Ensure accuracy of core Group reports through effective automated or manual controls and reconciliations.
- Review, co-ordinate and analyse reporting submissions and look to improve the accuracy of financial reporting.
- Produce monthly financial performance packs to a high standard and support key monthly deliverables including the Monthly Business Report for Group Finance.
- Assist with the preparation of Chief Financial Officer notes and Board reports to high level with minimal errors.
- Develop and nurture stakeholder relationships across the business leading to detailed understanding of the reporting process.
- Work with operating company teams to improve the quality of their commentary and ensure reporting requirements are understood.
- Ensure effective automated controls and reconciliation are established to ensure accuracy of reported data.
- Establish and agree monthly reporting processes to ensure all regular and ad-hoc deadlines are achieved.
- Work with the Project team and contributors of reports, to replace current regular reports with Power BI based reporting to ensure the replacement report continues to fully meet the reporting requirements of customers.
What we’re looking for
- Qualification in ACA, ACCA or CIMA is preferred.
- Experience of developing quality clear and reliable financial information.
- Ability to gain feedback from customer groups and achievement of agreed service standards and timescales.
- Proficient to acquire feedback from Group Finance, including the Finance Director’s and peers in the Finance Community.
- Experience of providing high quality communication with internal customers and other team members.
- Good understanding of delivery to customer requirements.
- Experience in project management and process re-engineering.
- Knowledge of contributing to the development and implementation of effective systems and processes.
- Motivated to develop skills, with the ability to work in a timely manner.
