A new and exciting opportunity has arisen due to the business growing with a very progressive insurer who is currently seeking a Risk & Compliance Manager.

You would be working under the direction of the Senior Management and Directors within the business to develop, manage, deliver, monitor and report on the Company's Compliance procedures, ensuring that processes are current, accurate and strictly in accordance with FCA Regulations. In addition to this you would:- 

  • To apportion the significant responsibilities among the firm's directors and senior managers so that it is clear: who has which responsibilities; and that the business and affairs of the firm can be adequately monitored and controlled. 
  • To set up, monitor and maintain adequate and appropriate systems and controls to ensure that the firm meets its regulatory requirements. 
  • To manage the regulatory requirements stemming from the FCA rules relating to general insurance/consumer credit activities. 
  • To oversee the compliance plan for the company to ensure it is managed in accordance with the company objectives. 
  • To provide advice and, as necessary, management of any parts of the FCA compliance plan and to report progress to the board of the company on a regular basis. 
  • Work with stakeholders, directly and through the compliance team to propose and agree actions required to mitigate key risks. 
  • Enhance and maintain a compliance culture. 
  • Lead and oversee delivery of Compliance training and awareness activities. 
  • Represent compliance at relevant meetings and committees and third-party providers and partners. 
  • Adhere to FCA principles and act as a role model for the company. 
  • Take responsibility for horizon scanning and leading action required as a result of regulatory change. 
  • Audit and review internal departments, work with key stakeholders to improve processes.

To be considered for the position you will have previous experience working in a Compliance Monitoring function and within General Insurance.
